Why re-invent the wheel?

For it is a logic question. I understand why this question pops up. It amazes you that someone really thinks they can do better than those that have done best before. Well, I don't. I don't think I can do better than those who have done an OK job already. And I don't really intend to do so.

Still, why re-work something that is done in order already?

It's interesting. It's a hobby. It trains the muscle. You might learn something. You might even learn a lot. You might even learn about something you can use somewhere else. And frankly, I'm interested. I understand not everyone is that interested. So if I wonder how something works, and want to have a look for myself, I understand that not everyone wants to do that too.

So, it's not about inventing the weel. It's about figuring out how it works, what makes it tick.

When you build a model plane, it's not for flying transatlantic, it's for looking at.
